It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. This is a free set of 12 French Numbers 0-100 Task Cards with answer key and recording sheet. You can use this freebie together with the full set, as these are marked with letters, rather than numbered. French Numbers 0-100 Task Cards really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of French numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling longer words in French. The translation questions are a great way of introducing beginner French learners to the concept of translation too. The cards are useful not only when you’re focusing on French Numbers 0-100, but also as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how to count in French, but also to enjoy working with French, and to feel confident about doing so. All questions are in French, and range in complexity and challenge, both in terms of language and number skills. I’ve used visual prompts such as math symbols to ensure all learners can engage with the questions, and this helps them to begin to infer meaning from context, and to decode cues and prompts to foster understanding. This set comprises the following non-editable files: 12 differentiated question cards, 6 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Laminate if possible - they’re far more learner-friendly and last for absolutely years! answer key & recording sheet I don’t always use a recording sheet - my students all have class workbooks, and they use those to work out their answers, and to note them down Have a look at the set of French Numbers 0-100 Task Cards here: ($3.75) FRENCH NUMBERS 0-100 : 48 DIFFERENTIATED TASK CARDS WITH ANSWER KEY & RECORDING SHEET https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-numbers-0-100-task-cards-12150355 Have a browse in my store for more French independent learning activities, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning materials, with French dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my young / beginner French students, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. I give my students these worksheets at the same time as introducing o’clock in French, so that they can practice and embed both recognizing the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for sub lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. I occasionally use them for more formal assessment purposes too. DAZ DAF GERMAN FOR CHILDREN TELLING TIME BEGINNER GERMAN TELLING TIME ANALOG HALF PAST THE HOUR LIST WITH MATCHING CLOCK FACES The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of German, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to***link it in their memory with a visual image***, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. Children glue the lists into their German vocabulary books, or file them in their German vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful German vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner German learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to German prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with half past, I then move on to additional time sets. Students often find half past the hour in German quite challenging, so the focused practice is really useful. There are two backgrounds to choose from - German flag, which I use for German vocabulary display, or plain. Students also find this How to tell time in German half past the hour worksheets freebie helpful: HOW TO TELL TIME IN GERMAN : HALF PAST THE HOUR WORKSHEETS FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-telling-time-half-past-worksheets-freebie-12865565 Have a browse in my store for more German visual vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other German teaching and learning materials, with German dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. SPANISH FOR GERMAN SPEAKERS FRUITS WORD SEARCH FREEBIE

SPANISCH FÜR DEUTSCHSPRACHIGE ALEMÁN SPANISH FOR GERMAN SPEAKERS SPANISH FRUITS WORD SEARCH for German-speaking Spanish learners. Sopas de Letras are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Spanish, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features a Spanish fruits word search with answer key, perfect for beginner Spanish learners of all grades. The fruits include masculine, feminine, singular and plural, with a blend of definite and indefinite articles - this really helps learners think a little more creatively about language, and their new Spanish vocabulary - they may learn la manzana, and it’s useful to give students opportunity to think about grammatical concepts, and how la becomes una for example. There is a Spanish to German grid, where learners are prompted with the Spanish word, and look for it in Spanish in the grid. For additional consolidation, the grid also features a German word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test. Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on the grid. Having a good bilingual dictionary to hand is also a good idea, as this provides a further focus on developing literacy in both Spanish and German, and facilitates learner independence. There is an answer key grid for the search grid, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys are really essential - they offer learners an additional opportunity to engage with language, develop more independence in their learning, and students genuinely enjoy ‘correcting’ their own, and particularly each others’ work. They’re a great teacher time-saver too, which is always a good thing! The word search is in landscape format, as this mirrors the common direction of reading and writing from left to right in both Spanish and German. I’ve found this to be the best format for beginner language learners, ensuring language is very clear and accessible. This kind of activity is really versatile too - I use for sub lessons, as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m focusing on fruits in Spanish. They may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply - please read them carefully. A great French Christmas picture & vocabulary reference resource for younger learners of French. It works well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. There are 20 common French Christmas words with pictures that I’ve found ideal for children learning French. I’ve used a blend of masculine and feminine nouns, definite article and indefinite article and there are some plurals too. I use this to stimulate discussion about articles, the concept of gender in French (which is often quite contrary to some learners’ first language, such as English), and forming the plural in French. It’s also great for promoting discussion about Christmas traditions and practices in France and French regions, as well as other French-speaking countries, comparing them to other Christmas customs with which students are familiar. Over time, I encourage students to add to the list - by the end of their French learning program, they’ll have a comprehensive French Christmas vocabulary bank. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Christmas colors (which I tend to use as part of a French Christmas display), and blackline snow. ESL EFL ENGLISH CONJUNCTIONS & CONNECTIVES Create an instant reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency common English conjunctions and connectives, really giving English language students a flying start with their core target vocabulary, and enabling them to build an enriched range of language from the very beginning of their learning. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a collection of one hundred common English conjunctions and connectives that students will meet in the advanced beginner into advanced intermediate stages of English learning programmes - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English conjunctions and connectives, and are confident with the meaning of those words in their first and / or home language, so that they can produce more complex and descriptive language and more complex sentences as soon as possible. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning 100 conjunctions and connectives all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English vocabulary and use practically and creatively as they form more complex sentences. It is definitely the case that frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocab into longer-term memory. I encourage my ESL / EFL learners to create accompanying lists corresponding to their first / home languages. There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which looks good as part of a vocabulary display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn. They are common English verbs, so they will see, hear and use the verbs regularly in daily life. They include regular and irregular verbs, and are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in German - at that point they can move on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning 25 verbs all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English verb vocabulary - embedding the verbs into long-term memory will come through frequent usage. There are two alphabetical lists - one English-German, and one German-English, as I’ve found that beginner language students prefer to have both as a reference resource. There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which looks good as grammar / vocabulary display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn.
